Admission Criteria for Harmony Hall
Harmony Hall exists to provide residents with a diagnosis of Mental Illness, Mental Retardation/Developmental Disability, or a related diagnosis of brain injury and/or impairment a safe and comfortable environment where staff have been trained to care for their specific needs. Harmony Hall is more than a Behavior Unit. Residents must manifest symptoms of cognitive impairment, impaired decision making and judgment, personality changes, mood swings, agitation, irritability, and socially inappropriate behaviors.
Residents may also be admitted to the Program based on the following guidelines:
- Resident has the ability to function in a group dynamic.
- Resident is able to actively or passively participate in individual or group programming.
- Resident is medically stable.
All residents are evaluated prior to admission and upon a significant change. Admission is determined by an evaluation which includes but is not exclusive to; assessment of functional abilities, mental status, psycho-social care needs, behavioral issues, diagnoses, medications/treatments, and medical history.
Admission is determined through an interdisciplinary review process on a case by case basis and is subject to the Facility’s determination of ability to meet the resident’s needs.
